What is your best way to manage emails?

Emails become harder to deal with time. A lot of emails get lost among spam or other more important emails.

How do you manage your emails? Do you use a tool or apply any labels?

For my personal email I use labels a lot but it doesnt help much. For work I have set up smart mailboxes to try and keep track of important stuff.
