Enjoy those Uber Select rides while you can

Uber is cleaning up its ride-hailing app and bidding adieu to most of its luxury ride options. 

Drivers across the U.S. and Canada were told Friday that by the end of July, ride options for more luxury experiences often in bigger, nicer, and new cars were being consolidated. 

That means Select, Premium, Premium SUV, Lux, and Lux SUV will no longer be an option. Instead Uber Comfort and different tiers of Uber Black will be the only "luxury" level rides available to order. 

Last year we got Uber Comfort as a halfway point to a black car (with quiet mode!), but it made the options for anything other than a regular UberX or Uber Pool shared ride even more confusing and bloated.  Read more...
