We finally have a shipping date for Andy Rubin's Essential phone

The Essential phone is real, you guys, and it will actually start shipping within 7 days. 

This is according to an email sent to customers who have reserved the phone, Android Authority reports. This doesn't, however, include the Essential 360 Camera; customers that ordered it will receive a separate email with a shipping date for the gadget. 

The news comes after a long delay (the phone was originally due for a June launch) during which it was unclear when the phone would ship. In early August, the project founder Andy Rubin (also known as the creator of Android) broke the silence by tweeting photos of the phone being manufactured.  Read more...
