Larry Page is secretly building flying cars, report says

An omnipresent science-fiction trope of the 20th century, the flying car has never really taken off, and if you ask a nerd these days, she or he is more likely to tell you that self-driving cars, not flying ones, are the future.

But according to a Bloomberg report, published Thursday, the dream of a personal flying car has never died for one very rich geek: Google co-founder and Alphabet CEO Larry Page. 

It appears Page has not one but two secret flying-car startups: a 150-person company called Zee.Aero and a smaller one called Kitty Hawk, both located near Google's offices in Mountain View, Calif. While Page has been extremely careful not to allow his name to be connected to either company, Bloomberg claims he's a key backer of both Zee.Aero and Kitty Hawk, having spent upwards of $100 million on his dream.  Read more...
