Chinese Tesla competitor planning $106,000 EV roadster, report says

If this Chinese roadster is the future of EV sports cars, sign me up.

Chinese electric vehicle startup Qiantu Motor is planning to compete with Tesla — and a slew of other Chinese EV upstarts — with its all-electric K50 roadster, company chairman Lu Qun told Bloomberg.

Distinguishing it from the rest of the ever-increasingly crowded luxury EV market, the K50 will feature a carbon-fiber body and aluminum frame. This stands in comparison to the comparably priced Tesla Model S, which has both aluminum body panels and frame. Read more...
