Double Robotics' new camera dolly robot aims to move 360-degree video forward

The 360-degree video craze has led to a flood of new 360-degree-video-capable cameras. The video they produce is immersive, interesting and also a little static. Double Robotics’ new 360 Camera Dolly aims to literally move 360 video forward.

“360 video right now, most shots or clips you see, you feel like you’re in a fishbowl. It’s one shot and you’re panning around,” said Double Robotics co-founder and CEO David Cann.

Cann’s company is probably best known for its Double telepresence robot, a self-balancing, remote control robot with an iPad head that you can guide over the Internet from anywhere in the world. It lets you be in meetings even when you can’t physically be there. Read more...
