LinkedIn's career app helps college students land their first jobs

LinkedIn has long been a helpful tool for students looking to land work or internships by connecting them with potential employers. Now, the company is rolling out a new app called LinkedIn Students that narrows in on helping soon-to-be-professionals demographic to help college kids find jobs.

LinkedIn Students boils LinkedIn down into a more simplified version that focuses on getting young people on certain career paths through relevant connections and providing details about positions.

Based on your personal information — i.e. where you went to college or your major — LinkedIn Students will suggest specific alumni and professionals in relevant positions to connect with (and even find mentors this way).  Read more...
