Facebook Donating 25 State Of The Art GPU Servers To AI Research In Europe
An anonymous reader writes: Facebook has announced that it will donate 25 high-end GPU servers to institutions in the European Union which are engaged in research on artificial intelligence. The first recipient will be a professor researching image analysis of breast cancer and the chemical modelling of molecules. The initiative, which is currently inviting suitable applicants from the EU, comes through the Facebook AI Research (FAIR) program, and the GPU donations will come with technical support and on-site collaboration. Though no specifications on the machines involved have been revealed, it seems likely that they will be some variant on Big Sur.Read more of this story at Slashdot.
