Tom Hanks digital puppet can act almost as well as Tom Hanks

After almost 80 movies and more than three decades in show business, actor Tom Hanks might be ready to take a break. Even if he isn’t ready to retire from the silver screen, Hanks might, in the not-too-distant future, be able to take a vacation and make movies at the same time

And it will all be thanks to science.

Researchers at the University of Washington have scrubbed the Internet for more than 200 images of the busy actor in a wide varies of facial poses and then used them to create a digital model of Tom Hanks that can “deliver speeches that the real actor never performed.”
