WordPress site problems can have many
causes, but even so you'll find a few

0:00:04.330,0:00:08.530
basic steps will help you catch most of
them. Here’s how to troubleshoot WordPress

0:00:08.530,0:00:13.480
sites in sixty seconds. The easiest thing
to check for is a theme problem, so first

0:00:13.480,0:00:18.410
activate a new theme. If the issue goes
away you know it's a theme problem.

0:00:18.410,0:00:23.680
If not, keep searching. Next deactivate all
the site’s plugins. If the problem stops

0:00:23.680,0:00:28.240
now you know it's a plugin problem. So
turn each plugin back on, one at a time.

0:00:28.240,0:00:33.140
When the issue comes back, you’ve found the
plugin at fault. The most common theme

0:00:33.140,0:00:37.670
or plugin issue is broken JavaScript.
Check the browser console and if it's a

0:00:37.670,0:00:42.000
JavaScript issue you should see a message
telling you which plugin or theme file

0:00:42.000,0:00:46.070
it's coming from. And if it's not the
theme or plugin try upgrading WordPress

0:00:46.070,0:00:49.680
or replacing its core files. If
something's wrong with WordPress itself

0:00:49.680,0:00:53.670
this should solve it. And if none of the
above works then contact your host

0:00:53.670,0:00:57.809
and ask them to check their logs to see
if something's wrong on their end.

0:00:57.809,0:01:00.670
And that's how you can troubleshoot WordPress sites
in 60 seconds.
