GM debuts a New York car-sharing program
GM is unveiling a car-sharing program in New York, but you have to live in The Ritz Plaza in Manhattan to use it, for now.
After running a small pilot program since mid-June, GM launched a new car-sharing program called Let's Drive NYC on Thursday. The program is currently only available for residents in one Manhattan apartment building, but the company looks to expand to other locations in the city and, potentially, other markets.
The program is a partnership between GM, Icon Parking Systems (which operates a variety of parking garages in New York) and real-estate developer Stonehenge Partners. That's why it's only available to the residents of 235 West 48th Street in Manhattan now, but don't think GM put in all of this work to offer the service to less than 500 people. Read more...
