How the Apple Store in Brussels will celebrate comic art

Belgium is home to many world-famous comic characters such as the Smurfs and the quiff-haired reporter Tintin. This week, it will also become home to a new Apple Store.

To celebrate the opening, the company recruited 20 Belgian comic artists to tell their stories in five images. Apple published a short video showcasing a few of the artists, including Max de Radigues and Judith Vanistendael, discussing their work and Belgium as the center of comic art

Their art surrounds the store, which will open on Sept. 19.

This isn't the first time Apple has collaborated with artists to visually represent a new location. Calligrapher Wang Dongling hand-painted a Chinese poem for the store in Hangzhou, China, and photographer Navid Baraty and artist Yangyang Pan created a cylindrical mural of the city for the store in Chongqing, China Read more...
