Oculus Rift will be amazing but not cheap, co-founder says

The Oculus Rift is coming in early 2016, but if you want it, you should expect to pay.

Oculus VR co-founder Nate Mitchell was fairly tight-lipped about the final retail price of the highly anticipated virtual-reality headset when he spoke to reporter Josh Constine at TechCrunch Disrupt on Wednesday, but he dropped a few hints and clarified what users would need to use the device.

"Overall, when we look at VR, we see two product categories," Mitchell explained. "The high-end, high-fidelity VR experiences that we're targeting with the Rift, and on the lower end, the mobile side, the product we're doing in collaboration with Samsung, the Gear VR."
