'Brady Bunch' Star Ann B. Davis Dies at 88 After Fall in Home

Ann B. Davis, whose always positive, no-nonsense housekeeper Alice Nelson was the glue that held The Brady Bunch together, died of a head injury Sunday after falling in her San Antonio, Texas, home. She was 88.

Davis fell in her bathroom and never regained consciousness, reported TMZ, which broke the news Sunday afternoonCNN also confirmed her death with Davis' friend Bishop William Frey, who said the injury caused subdural hematoma, a collection of blood on the surface of the brain.

Prior to playing Alice on The Brady Bunch from 1969 to 1974 (91 episodes of the show recently became available on Hulu Plus), Davis won two Emmys for her portrayal of secretary Charmaine Schultz on The Bob Cummings Show in the late 1950s. Read more...
