Rihanna Vevo Is First YouTube Channel to Top 5 Billion Views

Rihanna is queen of the billionaires — in terms of YouTube views, that is.

The pop priestess' channel, RihannaVEVO, became the first to exceed an aggregate of 5 billion views sometime in the past week or so, according to VidstatsX, which shows 5,036,358,777 views at the time of writing.

No one is making a billion dollars from a YouTube channel anytime soon, but a billion views? That's been done a hundred times over. The number of YouTube-view "billionaires" recently topped 100, according to data supplied to Mashable.

Believe it or not, the second-highest channel in views is Turkish music site MuYap, clocking in at 4,934,765,132. MuYap, which also acts as Turkey’s recording industry society, loads its channel with goofy and obscure music videos that do particularly well in the U.S. — about 80% of the views on its 11,000-plus videos come from America.
