Netflix Reveals Plans for Major Expansion Into Europe

Netflix has said "oui" and "ja" to France and Germany, an expensive move in pursuit of user growth.

France, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium and Luxembourg will soon be able to access Netflix, the company announced in a press release. The company did not disclose exactly when the service would launch, but said it would be sometime in 2014.

Netflix did not divulge pricing detailsU.S. accounts will work in the new countries, as any Netflix account can be accessed from anywhere the service is available, according to a Netflix spokesperson.
