Minneapolis Will Host Super Bowl LII: Selection Drama Unfolds on Twitter

The City of Lakes, whose new Minnesota Vikings stadium is under construction, will host Super Bowl LII in 2018, beating out stadiums in Indianapolis and New Orleans.

Never mind that it will be a gagillion degrees below zero in February — the National Football League on Tuesday selected Minneapolis as the host city during a balloted selection process that unfolded on Twitter (see below).

The good news is, the new Vikings stadium is indoors. Team officials, in a video promoting their new stadium, described the venue as having a transparent roof and five large pivoting glass doors. It will replace the recently demolished Metrodome, which hosted Super Bowl XXVI in 1992. Read more...
