Floodwaters Lead to 'Terrifying' Destruction in the Balkans

The massive scope of the damage from flooding in the Balkans became more apparent on Monday, with government officials from Bosnia-Herzegovina and neighboring Serbia describing the situation as "terrifying" and the worst disaster to strike the region since the Bosnian War 20 years ago. At least 40 people have been killed, with damage expected to rise into the billions of Euros. In some areas, floodwaters began to recede, but in others, there were still 7 to 10 feet of standing water, as rivers have carried a surge of water downstream
