Nobel Prize-Winning Author Gabriel Garcia Marquez Dead at 87

Gabriel Garcia Marquez, the Nobel Prize-winning author of One Hundred Years of Solitude and Love in the Time of Cholera, has died, the AP reported Thursday. He was 87.

Márquez, a native Colombian who for three decades had lived in Mexico City, was reportedly in failing health, including a recent battle with pneumoniaThe AP did not list a reason for his death, which it attributed to a source close to the author and journalist's family.
