LogMeIn Cancels Free Service

Free accounts on the remote desktop service, LogMeIn, are no longer available.

As of Tuesday, the company’s remote access services will be limited to paid subscribers, LogMeIn revealed to users Tuesday via an email alert as well as through an official blog post that discusses the policy changes.

The company said it was beginning the process of migrating users from the decade-old LogMeIn app to a single premium-access product, LogMeIn Pro. Existing users will have a seven-day window to upgrade, the post said, and the premium product brings with it integration with other cloud services, including Cubby, Dropbox, Box, Google Drive and SkyDrive.
