Registration For Microsofts Build 2014 Developer Event Is Now Open

Screen Shot 2014-01-14 at 9.35.06 AMToday Microsoft opened registration for its Build developer conference in San Francisco this April. The event marks the fourth Build, and its second iteration in San Francisco. The event, which runs April 2-4, will set you back a cool$2,095. Last year the event sold out, only to have a small subset of tickets released at a later date. Given that, if you do want to go, you may not want to dawdle. What should be on the docket for the Build season?Of the set of software updates rumored to come out in April, it’s not clear which of them will land at Build. But the conference will coincide with a new version of Windows Phone, an update for Windows 8.1, and what we hear is a look forward at the future of Windows, most especially what we might see in Windows 9. Other topics more than likely to come up include cloud computing via the Azure service, and the new Xbox One, a platform that Microsoft wants developers to embrace. I’m personally hoping for a strong look into the coming unification of the various Windows platforms and what their final form will be. TechCrunch will be there with bells on, of course. If Apple and Google both hold their developer events around the same time they did last year, we should see a busy developer season here in the city. Top Image Credit: Flickr
