Makers Of Oscar-Shortlisted Documentary The Act Of Killing Turn To BitTorrent For Promotion
BitTorrent has been pitching itself as a legitimate way for content creators to promote their works, and now the company is announcing what may be its most noteworthy partnership yet Drafthouse Films and the co-directors of the documentary The Act Of Killing are using a BitTorrent Bundle to promote the iTunes release of the director's cut.Noteworthiness is relative, and there's a decent that you haven't seen or even heard of The Act of Killing. But even though its box office numbers aren't all that impressive, its reviews are. And the film, in which Indonesian death squad leaders are asked to reenact their killings, made it onto the Academy Award short list for documentaries.
