Syrian Graphic Designer Denies Link to Syrian Electronic Army

A Syrian graphic designer reported to be a member of the Syrian Electronic Army has vehemently denied what he says is an unfounded claim.

Security reporter Brian Krebs published Wednesday a story on his blog claiming to have revealed the identity of a member of the Syrian Electronic Army. Krebs claimed Mohammed Osman, who later changed his identity to Mohamad Abd AlKarem, is a member of the pro-Assad hacker group that's infiltrated a number of high-profile websites and Twitter accounts. There is considerable evidence, however, that AlKarem and Osman are not the same person.

"I'm not the one who's from the Electronic Syrian Army," AlKarem told Mashable during a Skype interview. "I am not Mohammed Osman; I am Mohamad Abd AlKarem, an artist." Read more...
