Omate's TrueSmart Watch Beats Kickstarter Goal

While companies like Samsung, Google and Apple are rumored to unveil smart watches, the proposed gadgets all rely on one common denominator: your smartphone.

Omate is attempting to take a different approach with TrueSmart, a smart watch that operates independently from a smartphone, thanks to its 3G capabilities. While 28 days still remain in the smart watch's Kickstarter campaign, the company has already surpassed its fundraising goal of $100,000.

Omate lets users choose when to use the watch with a smartphone via Bluetooth 4.0 or Wi-Fi, and when to use it independently. Read more...
