Windows Phone 8 Updates Surface, but 'Blue' Delayed Until 2014

Microsoft revealed new details on Thursday about what to expect in its next round of Windows Phone 8 updates. Although these minor updates are expected to appear in the next few weeks, rumor has it that the larger "" updates won't arrive until 2014.

The upcoming update, which is known as General Distribution General Release 2 (or more succinctly as GDR2), will come with a variety of minor improvements to Windows Phone 8 eight months after its launch

But according to The Verge, dealing with these bug fixes has slowed down the arrival of the more feature-rich Windows Phone "Blue" updateMicrosoft initially planned to introduce updates more often, but issues with chipsets and a bug associated with the identification of devices on a network are causing delays.
