Obama Won't Order Military to Force Down Snowden's Plane

President Barack Obama won't use military aircraft to force a plane carrying National Security Administration leaker Edward Snowden to land, he told reporters at a Thursday press conference opening his trip to Africa.

"I'm not going to be scrambling jets to get a 29-year-old hacker," Obama said in response to a hypotethical scenario presented to him.

Obama also told reporters he has not personally called Russian President Vladimir Putin or Chinese President Xi Jinping about Snowden

"I have not called President Xi personally or President Putin personally and the reason is, number one, I shouldn't have to," Obama said, as quoted by Reuters.
