One Woman's Struggle to Drive Sales via Pinterest

Syazrina Ismail's business, JumpSac baby slings, sounds like the perfect type of product for Pinterest. So why is JumpSac's page so far limited to just one entry?

Technical issues. Ismail says that because of Java Script, Pinterest isn't displaying the proper images from her website. "It keeps displaying another non-related pic," she says. Ismail is working on a new website using the Magento platform that she hopes will remedy the situation. Ismail started the page in early May, shortly after Mashable's initial Social Makeover story ran.

Pinterest activation was a key component of the plan set forth by Katy Lynch, the consultant from our Small Business Panel that we paired Ismail up with. Nevertheless, JumpSac had a good month without Pinterest. The brand boosted its Facebook fans by 800, a roughly 17% increase. Ismail says she was hoping for more than a thousand, but 800 is good. Best of all, sales tripled during the month, an indication that all the social media marketing outreach reaped some dividends
