Convicted Hacker 'Weev:' I'm Not Nervous About Going to Jail

Weev-prison1

Andrew Auernheimer, a 27-year-old computer programmer and Internet troll also known as “Weev,” was sentenced Monday to three years and five months of jail under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act after exploiting a flaw in an AT&T website that allowed him to gather 114,000 iPad users' email addresses in 2010.

In an interview with Mashable recorded Thursday, Auernheimer said he's not nervous about going to jail.

"I did the right thing. I did something of global social good. I am going to continue to criticize rich and powerful people even from a jail cell if necessary," he said. "A, they're not going to lock me in a cage and have me shut the hell up. And B, you can't get somebody like me — I don't have any fear of these bullies."
