Vine's Biggest Obstacle in Becoming a Great App

There are now two categories for social video-sharing apps: Vine and everything else.

Nearly two months after Twitter's video app launched, Vine is back in Apple's top 20 free apps list and still being used by brands, journalists, celebrities and yes, regular folks. That's no small achievement considering the dozens of startups that have tried to bring mobile video-sharing apps to the mainstream in recent years

Vine is the first video sharing app I've written about that I then felt compelled to continue using afterwards. That's partly because I knew several friends and coworkers using it. The app is also simple enough to use — just tap and record for up to six seconds, then post — that I felt comfortable using it.
