Love With Friends: How Social Games Advance Romance

If you're still looking for a Valentine, you might try sending a Words With Friends request to that cutie you have your eye on. In a poll conducted by social game maker Zynga, 30% of players say they've used the chat feature on the games to flirt with their opponent.

Regular online dating and texting are so last year when compared to the in-game messaging of these turn-based social games. In its second annual With Friends Valentine's Day poll of more than 6,000 players, albeit unscientific, Zynga found there have been a few in-game marriage proposals laid out on the virtual game board.
