New York Times to Launch Online Edition in Brazil

The New York Times is expanding its digital reach with the launch of an online, Portuguese-language edition in 2013, the newspaper announced Sunday.

The forthcoming edition will target readers in Brazil, and include both translated stories and original work produced by local writers, the Times said in a statement. Readers can expect between 30 to 40 articles per day on global affairs, business and culture. The Times is also investing in original photography; graphics and multimedia will come later.
