Fort Collins and Ottawa Proclaim June 30 Social Media Day

The cities of Fort Collins, Colo., and Ottawa, Canada, will officially recognize June 30, 2012, as Social Media Day. Elaine Lindsay of Ottawa and Julia Senesac of Fort Collins led the push for Social Media Day in their respective cities.

Lindsay and Senesac met earlier this year through an online social media training program. Together they started a joint company, Market Me Local. Despite being hundreds of miles away they "share" an office almost everyday by staying in contact over Skype or hanging out in Google Hangouts.
