Microsoft Looking to Buy Yammer for $1 Billion-Plus [REPORT]




Microsoft is in talks to buy B2B social media software firm Yammer for $1 billion or more, according to a report.

The deal may be announced as soon as Friday, according to Bloomberg, which cites "two people familiar with the matter."

Reps from Microsoft and Yammer could not be reached for comment.

The reported deal comes after some very recent industry consolidation. Over the past month, Salesforce.com bought Buddy Media for $689 million on June 4 and Oracle bought Vitrue for $300 million on May 23.
