Amazon Web Services Debuts Storage Gateway To Securely Upload Enterprise Data To The Cloud

awsAfter launching distributed database DynamoDB last week, Amazon Web Services is debuting another productAWS Storage Gateway, which is a service that provides enterprises with a new option to securely upload and backup data to the AWS cloud from on-premises software appliances.Basically, the Gateway connect san on-premises software appliance with Amazon's cloud-based storage for a more secure integration between on-premises IT environments and AWS storage infrastructure. Via the Gateway, data is uploaded to AWS, where it is encrypted and stored in the Amazon's Simple Storage Service (Amazon S3). The Gateway provides a solution fir enterprises looking for effective backup and rapid disaster recovery between on-premise applications and the cloud.
