Cloud-Based Game Streaming Service Gaikai Raises $30M From Qualcomm, NEA And Others

Game streaming company Gaikai has just announced a new $30 million round led by NEA, with Qualcomm, Benchmark Capital, Rustic Canyon and Intel Capital participating in the investment. This brings the company's total funding to over $40 million.Gaikai offers a server-based, cloud-gaming technology that streams games, allowing users to play any game inside the web browser. Gaikai's game streaming service hosts the games, runs them and then streams them to users, allowing them to interact with games wherever they are browsing. Gaikai is also planning to bring this functionality to video games and other interactive software.
