A Novice's Letter on CS50 Week 0 (Part 1)

Context: I wrote as a novice mage writing his coding journey to his "friend" in an heroic fantasy world

Dear friend,

I am embarking on a journey to study computer science and have decided to document my progress in my blog. It has been a long time since I last studied, but I am determined to learn and improve my skills.

Now, I know what you're thinking "computer science? But isn't that just for people who are really good at math and have a knack for making computers do their bidding?" Well, my friend, you're not entirely wrong. But it's not just for those folks either even a novice mage like myself can learn the ropes! After all, computers may speak in numbers, but we can translate those numbers into plain old human language so that even the most math-phobic among us can understand.

And once you've mastered the basics of communicating with computers, you can start using algorithms to make things even more efficient. Just like we learned to use a dictionary to look up words in our youth, we can teach computers to do the same using the power of math. It's really quite magical and it's all thanks to the wonderful world of computer science!

But beware, my friend even though we're using words, the language of computers and math can be a bit tricky. The meanings of words and phrases can change, and it's important to understand the underlying code to truly grasp the intent of its creator. So don't be afraid to ask questions and seek help along the way after all, even the most skilled mage had to start somewhere!

I hope this little primer has been helpful, and I wish you the best of luck on your own journey into the world of computer science. May your studies be fruitful and your code be bug-free!

Yours truly...
