What are your Favorite Authors, on Which Topics, and Why?

I think the title says it all?
I am thinking mainly about authors writing on DEV.to but feel free to mention your favorite writers outside.

This is a DEV Discuss thread it can be as open-ended as we want.

You an use this syntax for making easier for us to follow said author.

In fact, I am excluding the extraordinary writer Ali Splittel from the competition because she wrote so many great articles on so many subjects that she would trust half of the answers, assuming we live in a fair world. I guess that's my way to say that she is my favorite author here.
