Vitamixes in general are known for their high-speeds and power that allow you to not only make drinks, but also dips, frozen treats, nut butters, and even fully-heated soups (that's without the assistance of a stove). This model in particular comes with presets for these concoctions (and the self-clean mode) on its touchscreen interface.

For one, that means that the base reads the container sizes and adjusts the program settings and blend time accordingly (though additional containers from the 64-oz one are sold separately). That blend time also shows up on the touchscreen and will shut off as soon as its done to avoid over-blending.
