AWS monthly wrap up - May 2021

Hi! I'm Helen, one of your AWS Heroes! At the end of each month, I'll be showcasing some of the great posts, projects, and insights from the AWS community right here on Dev.to.

To get us started we have Ali from the AWs Amplify team with a quick guide on how to deploy both an SSR and an SSG Next.js app. Check it out if you looking to deploy a Next.js app to Amplify.

Next, we have Ibrahim with the first post in a series exploring 'The State of Serverless Databases in AWS'. In this post you'll learn about Redis but in the following weeks Ibrahim will explore more database offerings and their tradeoffs.

Neha then gives an introduction to some of the most common AWS services as well as billing, the AWS console, and SDKs.

Moving on to Adit who has written an introduction to serverless. Check it out for a deep dive on the services that eliminate infrastructure management tasks such as server provisioning, patching, operating system maintenance, scaling, and capacity provisioning.

This next post by Pauline hopes to inspire you to dabble in some Terraform. This project is a fantastic way to get your head round Infrastructure as Code and makes playing around with AWS much more streamlined and fun.

Next, we have Michael and some great notes to get you started configuring Laravel queues with AWS SQS. This covers a step by step guide and includes links for further reading and tips.

Our last post is from AWS Hero Matt with some of the talks and stats from the recent, and very successful CDK day. This event is all about bringing the whole community together for one day to have fun and learn something new.

That's all for this month! For more great posts check out the #aws tag and the AWS Heroes.
