Stress and burnout management for software developers - short course

What do you think of when you hear the word stress?

Perhaps you think of that one colleague who seems to be tense all the time? You can see it in their eyes - the way they speak to you; in their reactivity and their general energy.

Or perhaps you think of yourself. Pain in the shoulders, tension headaches, rapid heartbeat, mind that refuses to switch off after a hard days coding (maybe even keeping you up at night). An endless sense of rushing from one thing to the next.

I used to be that person. My stressed out brain found it hard to focus. My exhausted body, somehow, couldnt sleep. I felt like I was behind all the time, and worked extra hard to make up.

It couldnt last. Eventually, stress became burnout. And burnout meant I was no good to anybody - no energy, no motivation, no ability to get anything done. No chance of writing a decent line of code!

My journey through, and recovery from, burnout taught me a LOT. I had to learn about the stress response in the nervous system. The difference between good stress and bad stress. Practical techniques about how to reduce the excessive stress in my system, and develop a healthy stress cycle.

I had to learn about myself too. My stress triggers. My attitudes and beliefs I held that contributed to my eventual burnout. I had to look at my life, examine the subtle ways Id been running myself into the ground and make some changes to rebalance my energy equation in favour of recovery rather than continuing burnout.

I learned that recovery was in my hands, and prevention was possible.

Its been quite a journey, but Im different person now. I still experience stress in my mind and my body. But Ive got tools to reframe it, and to deal with it when its getting excessive. I mostly stay in a healthy (for me) stress cycle. I know when Im at the beginning of burnout, and know what to do to prevent dipping into it too badly.

Ive learned about stress and burnout because Ive had to. Im super pleased to be able to offer what Ive learned in this hour long training. It's normally $38, but use the code "launch9" before the end of August and you'll get it for $29.

Software Developers - Learn how to manage stress and burnout in an hour.

You'll receive two videos and multiple MP3s with guided stress management exercises that anyone can do.

The world has been a stressful place this year, perhaps more so than usual. I don't see that changing. If you feel like excessive stress is a negative force in your life, then jump on this training immediately.

If you have any questions, I'd love to hear from you. Just hit reply.

Wishing you a safe and stress-free week,

Daragh

PS if this is too much for you right now, I provide plenty of free material over at my site.
