Something is afoot in Microsoft Land.

As you may recall, the tech giant's Oct. 2 hardware event came and went without a mention of the Surface Book 3 — that is, the successor to its hugely popular Surface Book 2. It was sort of odd, considering the high-end convertible laptop is long overdue for an update: The Surface Book 2 came out way back in 2017, and the OG Surface Book debuted two years prior.
