4 toys to give kids a head start in STEM without screen time

Buzzwords like "STEM" and "STEAM" are everywhere these days. When it comes to educating young minds, learning these skills — science, technology, engineering, art, and math — can help prepare budding minds for the future workforce. More specifically, coding is an increasingly popular skill needed in today’s society. 

“Often children don’t know any scientists or engineers personally, depending on the family,” says Roger Malina, professor of arts and technology at the University of Texas at Dallas. “The earlier they can get hands-on experience, the better.
