For a brief moment of bliss, Facebook was down

UPDATE: Aug. 3, 2018, 10:04 a.m. PDT About 45 minutes after Facebook went down it appears the social media platform has resolved its issues and the site and app are back up and running. A Facebook spokesperson said in an email, "Earlier today, a technical issue caused some people to have trouble connecting to Facebook and it has since been resolved.” 

Other information, like the extent of the brief outage, was not immediately available.

Try going to Facebook.com on your browser, and you'll probably see nothing this morning. 

Just after 9 a.m. PT, users started posting on Twitter about the social media site not loading. For many users the site was just a blank white page. Read more...
