Google Home and Chromecast have been down for hours due to mysterious 'glitch'

It's turning out to be a great day for service outages.

Google Home speakers and Chromecasts have been down across the world for several hours as the result of an unspecified "glitch."

It's not clear what's causing the issue, but Google Home speakers are responding to commands by saying "there was a glitch, try again in a few seconds." That "glitch," whatever it is, has been happening for at least 5 hours.

Likewise, Chromecasts have also been inoperable for several hours. Google hasn't commented on the source of either issue, or if the two are related, but the @MadebyGoogle Twitter account has been tweeting at angry users for hours letting them know a fix is on the way. Read more...
