Ed Piskor's X-Men: Grand Design

Have you read "Grand Design", Ed Piskor's remix of the X-Men's epic history? You must, even if you're not into Marvel's legendarium, because it's amazing work. Not just a more enganging distillation of the characters and their history than the movies, too, but with Ed's style and wit it's like something from a parallel world where the X-Men were alt comics. Truly uncanny!

When youre taking 8,000 pages of material and turning it into a 240-page story, there isnt an infinite amount of room for exposition and character stuff. So its Piskor style. Its documentarian, but Ive created this MacGuffin for the series where Uatu the Watcher is kind of describing the events that hes witnessed over decades. So hes the cypher that the story goes through, if that makes sense. And Uatu, he doesnt care about your petty human dramas. Hes like Joe Friday Just the facts, maam.
