This futuristic street light design is surprisingly eco-friendly

The 'Gates of Light' is a design project that hopes to eliminate the need for electric street lights and limit light pollution. 

Designers from Studio Roosegaarde lined these floodgate structures on a causeway in the Netherlands with a retro-reflective material to reflect light from a car's headlights as it passes. Read more...
