Cop accused of having sex with woman while on duty keeps job, gets probation

Earlier this year Columbus Ohio police officer Randall Mayhew, a 17-year veteran, was charged with three counts of prostitution, three counts of soliciting, and one count of dereliction of duty. At least one of the woman he was accused of having sex with while in uniform said she was afraid Officer Mayhew would take her to jail.

This week, according to the Columbus Dispatch, "Franklin County Municipal Court Judge Cynthia Ebner sentenced Mayhew to two years probation, 30 hours of community service and fined him $150 in addition to court costs. She also sentenced him to 90 days in jail, which she immediately suspended." He will keep his job. The paper also reports that Mayhew was "one of three officers who faced similar accusations in 2015."
