Youtuber Rich Colburn made this wonderful animation showing of Evel Knievel's legendary steam-powered SkyCycle-X2!

Last summer my daughter and I stopped to look at the ramp alongside Idaho's Snake River Gorge, where the grandfather of today's extreme sports movement famously deployed his chute too early. You can still see the ramp. 10 year olds will not be impressed.
