Andy Rubin just made even more big promises about the Essential Phone

The Essential Phone is finally here, and its creator Andy Rubin just made more big promises about the device ahead of its shipping date next week.  

Rubin, who is also the creator of the Android, published a blog post today to officially announce the phone's availability and drum up more excitement about this new "pure" Android phone.

Availability of the phone has been a cause for major concern among many fans ever since unlocked versions of the phone were made available for pre-order back in May.

Customers who reserved unlocked versions of the device in May finally received emails about their shipments earlier this week, and the company's exclusive mobile carrier, Sprint, just announced its own pre-order campaign.
