You can order the (RED) iPhone and cheap iPad today at 11:01 a.m. eastern time

Apple's online store is currently down, but we don't expect any surprises when it comes back at exactly 11:01 a.m. ET (8:01 a.m PT). Instead, the company's new PRODUCT(RED) iPhone, as well as the new $329 iPad tablet, will become available for order. 

On Tuesday, Apple announced that the PRODUCT(RED) iPhone 7 and 7 Plus will become available for order today in more than 40 countries, including the U.S. The shipping time is end of March. 

Besides being red with an aluminum back finish, the new iPhone 7 is otherwise exactly the same as the regular model. However, by buying it you support a good cause: Apple donates a portion of the proceeds from all PRODUCT(RED) devices to the Global Fund to Fight AIDS.  Read more...
